Well this was a very interesting day. For those who don’t know I am going back to school.
Surprise
This is a really good thing I have been struggling with going back to working in disability services. Because of the main reason I went into that field was due to the issues that my EX was going through I needed to understand what was going on. When in fact it is was not that. We don’t need to go into it read the book —>
When I wanted to go back to work, I could not do it. I could not be working in the field because it brought back the lies. So I started looking at what I have done in the past and that just did not appeal as well. So I did some research and came up with paying it back to the community. So to start this path off I am now going to school for Community Services. The next stage will have to wait until next year to reveal.
Lets spice up this post a bit…….
Yesterday I found myself doing something others must do when they meet me. So before I tell you what I went and did please don’t be to angry with me because even for me life is a learning process.
Here is what I did in my class I was introduced to a young man who I wrongly assumed was Transgender or Nonbinary. Shocking I was 100% wrong, in fact could not have been more wrong. This young man was 100% happy with whom he was, he just loved fashion. Now I am going to point out something here and I want you to think about it a bit. It is not a matter of an issue of being a bigot or a phobia. The world is change and walls of the binary system is changing in such a way that even I was confused. I apologised and we carried learning about each other.
In the one simple moment of time something became very clear. Maybe we are becoming a knee jerking society. Instead of stepping back and letting something new sink in we are building a wall of resistance to change.
Follow me in a walk of the grey matter (you know using our brain). There is currently a backlash of the issues of Gender and separating it from Sex. What the backlash is that many in the LGBT+, Transcommunity Supporter and medical service have been trying to change the world when it comes to the view of the word “Sex”. Last night I was listening last night to a youngman giving a speech at a university who was trying to get his point across that Gender and sex are the same thing.
Now in some ways I agree with him, but the only thing that is constant is change itself. Sometimes progression updates history and it has to be this way or else we would still be living in caves. So in the past we have said “Sex” was assigned at birth M or F. But the problem of using the word “Sex” is that since the 60’s the term “Sex” has been changing more towards alignment with “Sexuality” and the act of “Sex” itself. The issue is that using the word “Sex” in the verb form causes issues when using it as a Description form. For example Mike was born a Male which is on his birth notice and last night Mike had Sex but Mike’s Sexual preference is other men. We have just used the word “Sex” like the word “Fuck” for example I Fucking hate her, I want to put her in a fucking bucket and grind the fuck out of it. None of it is wrong but it does lead to confusion.and the societal view that you ability to communicate is that of a 2 year old (who needs his mouth washed out).
So now if we remove the word “Sex” from describing one’s birth anatomy. What can we replace it with? (BTW we are going to ignore the issue of the Binary markers at this time.) The term and usage of Gender from the Oxford Dictionary states the following:
- [mass noun] The state of being male or female (typically used with reference to social and cultural differences rather than biological ones):
1.1 [count noun] The members of one or other sex: - Grammar
(in languages such as Latin, French, and German) each of the classes (typically masculine, feminine, common, neuter) of nouns and pronouns distinguished by the different inflections which they have and which they require in words syntactically associated with them. Grammatical gender is only very loosely associated with natural distinctions of sex.
2.1 [mass noun] The property (in nouns and related words) of belonging to a grammatical gender:
English has always been blamed for being simplistic for example the different types of the word love. So if we change the word used for making what lies between the legs of a person when they are born do we then create a simplification of the English language or are we evolving the English Language? Lets try it out with the Example I gave above. Mike was assigned the Male “gender” marker at birth and last night Mike had Sex but Mike’s Sexual preference is other Men. Now lets not get into if Mike is going against God because that is not my point. What I have done is shown you using the word Gender causes no harm and can now be Firmly used to describe what is between the legs of a child when it is born. As a result we have:
Name: Mike
Gender: Male
Action: Had Sex
Sexual Attraction: Same Gender
So what is the outcome or cost of this change? Well easy Nothing. So we end up evolving the English language just a little bit to the point where we can all understand the difference of a word usage and not sound like we have used it like the word “FUCK” for fucks sake, lol.
Thank you for walking this Grey Matter path with me. I hope you have enjoyed a small smile while really looking at the word Sex in a different light.
